Mayeda Campus Art: 2013-2014
How does exploring perspective and point of view open possibilities in art engagement?
Our focus this year will be on perspectives, point of view and how observation and interpretation deepen the persuasiveness of art making. We will look at how historical and cultural perspectives and context in art can make strong connections in understanding and building empathy. Students will deepen their own expression, growth and curiosity and sense of community. The various art residencies we are looking at in the upper grades will be very invigorating and hands on. In our exploration this year students will analyze, evaluate and create their art using different mediums and approaches (dance, music, literary arts, performing arts, movie making). We are also planning art field trips! It should be an exciting and fun year!
